First lunch of Reiwa1st May 2019 Ishinomaki

After an early morning walk around Ishinomaki in the rain and mist visiting temples and the hilltop park the weather started to clear around lunchtime. While walking in the town we noticed a nice cafe and bakery shop in an old wooden building with a tiny shrine next door.
It was serving a set lunch of local ingredients and the bakery had a fine selection of breads and cakes.

The lunch set contained local octopus with red peppercorns, Hoya ( seasquirt) in oil and lemon,
venison, spiced chicken, fried tofu skin filled with creamed potato and cheese, salad with orange dressing, pickles, rice and soup.

and for pudding ..... I chose a take out whipped cream and fresh fruit sandwich
